The "Commodore Dynamic Total Vision", a.k.a. CDTV, was Commodore's first attempt at a video game console, though it was more of a multimedia system much like the 3DO and the CD-i. Fact is, the CDTV was actually just an Amiga 500 with a CD-ROM drive and remote control, plus other optional peripherals like keyboard and mouse.

Commodore's trick was cheap - the Amiga 500 was so outdated that it would be discontinued that same year, you could just buy it for less, and there was not really much it could do with a CD-ROM drive - so of course it failed spectacularly. However, it seems they had failed to learn their lesson, as they would try the same thing again a few years later with the Amiga CD32.
