Overview of recommended mods for New Vegas

Installing Mods

Usually mods are simply extracted to your Data\ directory (e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout New Vegas\Data).

After that the plugin files (*.esp, *.esm) have to be activated. The recommended way is to use FOMM.

Some mods may install differently or require additional mods to work. Always check the Readme/Mod description before installing a mod.

Interface Mod - Revelation	Replaces several menus with Fallout Tactics textures
Type3 Body and Armor replacer	Female (non-nude) body replacer, also fixes vanilla armor to fix the new body mesh better
Weapon Animation Replacers	Better animations for pistols and rifles
Ojo Bueno textures	Texture overhaul; makes tons of stuff look better
Weapon Retexture Project	Gives new higher res textures to all weapons
Vurt's Wasteland Flora Overhaul	Adds a huge variety of native plant life to the Mojave
Gameplay
IWS-Increased Wasteland Spawns	More monsters in the Mojave, configurable in-game. Also introduces more guards/patrols and battles between factions.
J.E. Sawyer's Mod	A mod by Sawyer himself, consists of many small fixes and tweaks. Makes the game more challenging and also lowers the level cap to 35.
Project Nevada	General gameplay overhaul inspired by FWE, incorporates some community mods and is modular.
FOOK - New Vegas	Gameplay/items/factions overhaul, compatible with Project Nevada (but will have a lot of overrides with the PN Equipment Module), incorporates many community mods and fixes
Tag Skills Improved	Increases the bonus for tagged skills, making tagging more useful
Weapon Mods Expanded - WMX	Add more weapon mods into the game
Imp's More Complex Needs	Increases nutritional and sleep needs complexity. You now require specific things in order to bolster your natural metabolism and thus health regeneration. Factors in specific nutritional needs (protein, fat, carb...etc.) and sleep dept into an array of perks that can positively or adversely affect you. Highly customizable.
Fixes/Tweaks
Authentic Burned Man	Makes Joshua from Honest Hearts look actually burned.
Mission Mojave	Community Bug Fixes for New Vegas
NVEC - New Vegas Enhanced Content	Community bug fixes similar to Mission Mojave (incorporate it, in fact). /vg/ recommends only using the Bugfixes + Reduced CTD to avoid the retarded shit it adds.
Reduced Load-Screen Fast Travel Markers	New/modified markers for fast-travel to reduce changing cells all the time.
Fatigue Fix	Fixes KO weapons to actually cause KO damage.
Unarmed and Melee Perk Tweak	Changes unarmed and melee perk requirements so you don't have to boost unarmed on a melee char and vice versa.
Casino Exchange All	Adds a dialog option to the casino cashiers to exchange ALL of your Legion/NCR money.
Immersion
Immersive Karma	Removes Karma gain/loss messages
Nevada Skies - Weather Effects BETA and URWLified	Introduces weather effects (Rain, Sandstorms, etc) into the game
No Dialog Tags	Hides skill checks in dialog
F3NV Project Reality MkI	Makes the outside look more realistic, also includes weather effects

Colossus t49xv	A power armor similar to the classic Enclave armor
Leather backpack	A backpack with additional functions (portable bed, container, ...)
Six-String Samurai Sword	Ever wanted to role-play as Buddy? This is the mod for you
Satchels 'n' Stuff	A complement to Tailor Maid
Tailor Maid - NV	Makes single parts of vanilla armors available to wear individually
The Road Warrior Armor	A Mad Max inspired armor
Quests, Locations
A Requiem for a Capital Wasteland	Adds a tunnel to travel to the Capital Wastelands. Includes all content Fallout 3 had to offer (quests and such). Requires Fallout 3 data files.
BrotherhoodHouseAlliance	Restores a dialog option (with hefty speech check) that allows you to keep the BoS alive while siding with House. BEWARE: users report that the mod breaks ending slides.
A World Of Pain	Adds places with tons of enemies and loot
New Vegas Restoration - NVR	Ambitious mod to make the Strip a greater place. Cleans it up, adds casinos and removes the interior gates
Underground Hideout	Adds a Player Vault in the the Wasteland near Spring Mt. Ranch State Park with an armory, ammo Sorters, weapons wall etc.

CONELRAD 640-1240 - Civil Defense Radio	New radio station with many Cold War themed songs and original Civil Defense PSAs
Radio New Vegas - The Secret Stash	Adds many songs referenced in quest titles to Radio New Vegas
Mysterious Broadcast - Extended	"...a radio expansion for the station that comes with the Old World Blues DLC. This mod is a little more complex, however, as it restructures the station internally so as to rename it to "Old World Blues," prevent repeat songs, and hopefully stomp out any of the bugs that the station had out of the box."
Mojave Music Radio - Extended	Adds more songs to Mojave Music Radio.
