	Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag	Action-Adventure	Yes	Pirates... and assassins! Come for the murderboating, stay for the colorful characters and the ability to explore more than ever before murderboating. Yes, you can swim this time! Beware of sharks.
	Batman: Arkham Knight	Action-Adventure	No	Sequel to Batman: Arkham City. After Joker's death, Gotham City goes mad as Scarecrow teams up with the mysterious Arkham Knight to wreak havoc. You know the deal by now - punch bad guys, do detective work, punch more bad guys. But this time, you can use the Batmobile, a feature that is great at first until they ask you to keep using it over and over again. Also, Scarecrow-induced hallucinations give you even more Joker screentime, which may or may not tickle your fancy depending on how much you like Mark Hamill which makes the best use of Mark Hamill; nobody hates based Mark. While it has its rough edges, it's still a worthy conclusion to the Batman Arkham series. Note - As WB Games is publishing this title, there is already a metric fuckload of DLC cut up and sold in tiny bite-sized packages (unless you bought the season pass). Most opinions on the DLC are somewhat mixed, especially concerning how long they are, so I would suggest holding out for the inevitable GOTY edition if you want it THAT much. Which you don't, since the '66 Batman costume is free for PS4, and that's all the bonus content you'll ever need.
	Bloodborne	Action-RPG Horror	No	Considered to be in the same line as the Demon's/Dark Souls games, as they share the same developer and director. Bloodborne ditches the dark fantasy approach for a Lovecraftian one with a Victorian-style city, but the elliptical storytelling and grotesque monster designs prevail. Gameplay is also similar: dying is inevitable and pressing on is a game of risk vs. reward, but combat is much more offensively-oriented, ditching shields in favor of pistols and featuring a small amount of very distinct melee weapons. As always, online multi-player allows you to summon companions for help or invade other players' games. A very challenging and richly-detailed experience that fans of the Souls series will feel at home with.
	Borderlands: The Handsome Collection	FPS / RPG	No	Includes Borderlands 2 as well as Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel!.
	Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons	Adventure	No	A short but fun game with an isometric view, now in physical form. Control two brothers on a journey to help their ailing father.
	Crash Bandicoot N-sane Trilogy	Platformer	No	Crash is freaking back! This collection is a wonderful remake of the first (and the only remarkable) three games of the series, originally made by Naughty Dog. Graphics are are superb but the physics, despite being good and on point, are not 100% accurate to the original games, making the learning curve surprisingly steep at the beginning, but nothing that will make you tear your hair down (unless you're going for the 3 platinum trophies).
	Darius Burst: Chronicle Saviours	Shoot'em Up	No	The ultimate Darius package, for Darius and Shmup fans alike! It has two modes of play, AC Mode and CS Mode. AC mode is a direct port of the Arcade game Darius Burst: Another Chronicle EX, massive resolution and all, while the CS mode is where the bulk of the game is. You pick from missions on a map, which consists of playing through a sequence of stages, which when beaten unlock more missions, branching into various directions. There are 9 different ships to choose, including ships based on the previous games of the series. Also available on Vita and PC, with the PC version supporting dual monitors in AC mode.
	Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin	Action RPG	No	An upgraded version of Dark Souls II. Includes all of the previously released DLC.
	Dark Souls III	Action RPG	No	The final game in the series, this time with Miyazaki back at the helm. Expect a faster pace this time around, as the team was still fresh off of Bloodborne. This one is generally considered better than Dark Souls II (though some may not agree), but not quite as good as DaS 1 nor Demon's Souls. Ashes of Ariandel is a 3 hour piece of shit with little content and two bosses, while The Ringed City has more to offer with DS2-levels of bullshit difficulty. The Fire Fades Edition contains all DLC, so if you've waited to get a complete edition while waiting for a reasonable price, then get it now.
	Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition	Action RPG	No	The DRM issues from the original PC version do not apply to UEE, due to the offline mode that the PC version is lacking. It's Diablo. If you don't know what to expect from Diablo you're underaged.
	Driveclub	Racing	No	A somewhat arcade-y racing game with nice controls and excelent graphics. Used to have a free/trial version for Plus subscribers with plenty of tracks and cars, but they've removed it since people weren't buying the full game (kek). It's a cheap and excelent option for fans of the genre, specially because NFS is sucking nowadays.
	Far Cry 4	FPS/Action-Adventure	No	Go to Nepal. Ride elephants. Kill tigers. Shoot colorful enemies and restore temples. Have fun!
	Final Fantasy X/X2 HD Remaster	RPG	No	A remaster of Final Fantasy X International and Final Fantasy X-2 International + Last Mission for the PS3, the updated graphics look nice but the FMVs are just the PS2 FMVs re-rendered in 1080p and the voices aren't changed but the addition of the International bonuses and the HD graphics are worth replaying this game. Has the option to change the soundtrack to the original PS2 soundtrack or the re-arranged PS3 and PS Vita versions. Also available on PS3 and on PS Vita. PS3 version has a bonus Music Blu-ray OST disc. PS Vita splits the two games from each other and doesn't include the bonus Music Blu-ray OST disc on the PS3 but offers us good portability. Supports cross-play (you can transfer saves between the PS3, PS Vita and PS4 versions) but not cross-buy. Both PS3 and PS Vita versions have downgraded graphics and no option to play with the PS2 soundtrack.
	Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn	MMORPG	Yes	Significantly better than FFXIV's first outing, which was absolutely terrible. Squeenix listened to all the complaints and criticisms, and more-or-less created the game people actually wanted (a WoW clone). The combat system is a little tired (press button to use skill/spell, and make sure to move out of the way of attacks), however the dungeons are superb, as is the overworld, art, graphics, and music. It also has selling/auctioning items, player to player interaction, forming parties and 'companies' (guilds), and has a decent storyline to boot. It has had a few issues going out, but they've been patching regularly to fix anything the community generally complains about. Overall, a decent MMO with a fantastic setting.
	Final Fantasy Type-0 HD	Action-RPG	No	Imagine Crisis Core but better with 14 different playable characters, playable summons, A WORLD MAP, chocobo breeding and a fantastic story. The gameplay is difficult and will kill you if you get careless but is fun and faster than Crisis Core because less "slot machine" bullshit. Much, MUCH, bloodier, gorier and violent than the previous Final Fantasy games. Has updated graphics compared to the PSP version, as well as the option to change the voices to English or Japanese, no multiplayer (as if anyone cared about it), an exclusive alternate ending, an updated soundtrack and an exclusive demo for Final Fantasy XV for the Day One edition. Keep away from the English dub, it is the worst English dub Square has ever worked on (even worse than Final Fantasy X but not as bad as FF4 SNES). Has a somewhat spotty translation so get the PSP version if you are willing to pirate and you have PPSSPP or a PSP with CFW.
	Final Fantasy XV	Action-RPG	No	Well, here it is. After ten years of the rockiest series of development cycles since Duke Nukem Forever, you can finally get your hands on Final Fantasy XV, and thankfully it's not another Duke Nukem Forever. As Prince Noctis, heir to the Lucian throne, you're tasked to go on a road trip with your three closest friends to the neighboring Tenebrae in order to marry your childhood girlfriend, Lunafreya. This innocent bachelor party turns into a quest for vengeance when your kingdom gets sacked by the evil Niflheim technocracy. Final Fantasy hijinks ensue as you sneak into military bases, crawl through absolutely brilliant dungeons (I'd even argue XV has the best dungeon designs in recent FF memory), race chocobos, go on fetch quests, and teleport like a madman smacking a bunch of classic Final Fantasy monsters around. What's not to love? The main questline is short for an FF, averaging around 20-25 hours, but there's plenty of side content and minigames to fill your time. The game is still technically in development in the form of both free and paid DLC meant to polish up less popular areas of the game, add even more features, and to flesh out its story, so it's up to you to either wait a couple of years for the inevitable Game of the Year edition or jump in now with the promise of much more to come. Either way, I strongly suggest you watch Kingsglaive before playing the game, as a lot of very important plot elements take place there.
	Ghost Blade HD	Shmup	No	A cool manic shooter, originally released on the Dreamcast, with some solid indie pedigree: the producer and the programmer of Pier Solar, plus the designer and the composer of Last Hope. Their main inspiration is distinctly - or even shamelessly - Cave's DonPachi series. Gorgeous highly detailed backgrounds and nice electronic soundtrack. Very enjoyable, but perhaps a bit on the short and easy side.
	God of War III Remastered	Action-Adventure	No	The remastered port of God of War III. Shameless cash-in, but still an excellent game. You can get the original trilogy and both PSP ports in one package on the PS3 though, so only get this if you want your game to look extra pretty.
	Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-	Fighting	No	Fight colorful characters with other colorful characters in lovely 3D-as-2D art design levels. Extremely technical gameplay is complemented by extremely thorough tutorials that explain the systems about as well as possible. Guilty Gear is famous for the "Roman Cancel" system, which interrupts your actions for a cost to allow for combos beyond the scope of what the game normally allows, and Xrd features changes to make it more intuitive than it was in XX. The comprehensive fighting package is complemented by a visual novel-esque story mode with literally zero gameplay, but the story is surprisingly good if hard to follow at times. Xrd -SIGN- has now been followed up by Xrd Revelator and Xrd R2, which feature more characters, content, and balance changes.
	Grand Theft Auto V	Action / Adventure / Open World	No	The sprawling sun-soaked metropolis of Los Santos is chock full of self-help coaches, starlets and C-List celebrities, once on top of the media world, now struggling to stay relevant in time of economic malaise and lowest-common-denominator reality TV. Amidst this madness, three unique criminals plan their own chances of survival and success: Franklin, a street-level hustler in search of opportunities for serious money; Michael, an ex-con whose "retirement" is a less rosy than he hoped it would be; and Trevor, a violent dude driven by the chance for a quick high and the next big score. Nearly out of options, the crew risks it all in a series of daring and dangerous heists that could set them up for life - one way or the other.
	inFAMOUS: Second Son	Action / Adventure / Open World	No	inFAMOUS Second Son is an action adventure game in which, surrounded by a society that fears them, superhumans are ruthlessly hunted down and caged by the Department of Unified Protection. Step into a locked-down Seattle as Delsin Rowe, who has recently discovered his superhuman power and is now capable of fighting back against the oppressive DUP. Enjoy your power as you choose how you will push your awesome abilities to the limit and witness the consequences of your actions as they affect the city and people around you.
	Injustice: Gods Among Us - Ultimate Edition	Fighting	No	Lay the virtual smackdown on some of your favorite DC comic heroes and villians. Raven vs Cyborg? Batman vs Superman? Aquaman vs Captain Marvel (Shazaam)? Go for it! Also has a story mode that doubles as a tutorial to help players learn the ins and outs of this fighter as well as a challenge mode with tricky combat for the vets.
	Injustice 2	Fighting	No	Picking up from where the first game left off, this is one gigantic love letter to DC, with a much more varied roster (f*** yeah Swamp Thing and Doctor Fate!), improving on everything from the first game and with one of the most epic stories ever on a fighting game (eat your heart out you stupid DC movie directors)!
	Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix	RPG	No	Still not Kingdom Hearts 3 (ironically, when you add up the numbers in this collection's title, you get Kingdom Hearts 4) but it's still a pretty damn good deal for both fans and non fans alike. Here, you get all six games from the 1.5 and 2.5 collections on PS3 (KH1 Final Mix, KH2 Final Mix, Birth by Sleep Final Mix, Re: Chain of Memories as well as the cutscenes of 358/2 Days and Coded) on one disc with all the playable titles now running at a silky smooth 60 frames per second during gameplay!
	The Last Guardian	Puzzle/Pet Simulator	No	A spiritual successor to Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, The Last Guardian pairs a young boy with a gigantic gryphon-like creature called a Trico. You and Trico are tasked with working together to escape an enigmatic fortress known as The Nest. Like its preceding games, the puzzles are fun and on point, the atmosphere is as stunning as always, and the story is minimally told and incredibly touching. Bear in mind Trico does have a hidden trust meter and responds better when given attention and training. There's something satisfying about teaching him how to catch food barrels in midair, for example. Overall The Last Guardian is one of the best games of 2016, and a must play if you're a fan of Team Ico games.
	The Last of Us Remastered	Action / Adventure / Survival	No	Twenty years after a pandemic radically transformed known civilization, infected humans run amuck and survivors kill one another for sustenance and weapons - literally whatever they can get their hands on. Joel, a salty survivor, is hired to smuggle a fourteen-year-old girl, Ellie, out of a rough military quarantine, but what begins as a simple job quickly turns into a brutal journey across the country.
	Mad Max	Action / Driving / Harpoon Fishing / Survival	No	A fairly direct prequel to Fury Road, Mad Max is the game that fans of the series always wanted. Mostly silent protagonist, carbuilding/survival focused story that really picks up near the end, mentally fucked characters who make up cool words, everything you'd expect from the series, and you get to go to Gastown to boot. The map is actually varied and does a very good job at avoiding the copypaste shit that plagues most open world games. Well worth a shot if you like the prospect of ushering War Boys off to Valhalla.
	Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes	Tactical Espionage Action	No	The semi-demo "prologue" to Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Invade a U.S./Cuban base to save your friends. Additional missions use the same map, but change it so you have to assassinate soldiers/obtain enemy intelligence/save Hideo Kojima, allowing you to play in different ways. Many people complained about the incredibly short playtime of the game (around an hour for the main mission), so rent it first if you're not sure if you want it yet.
	Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain	Tactical Espionage Action	Sorta	The continuation of Ground Zeroes. More of an open world Metal Gear this time - you can try to get in without alerting anyone to your presence, and then go in guns blazing after that fails. Catch animals and send them to your Mother Base! Fight alongside a mute sniper in a bikini! Teach a wolf how to CQC! The choices are as limitless as the story is unfinished. Note: The "sorta" in terms of always-online refers to FOB missions, where you can invade other players' Mother Bases and vice versa. There's also reportedly microtransactions related to base building, so tread with caution. STAAAAANDING ON THE EEEEEDGE OF THE CRATER-
	Metro Redux	FPS/Survival Horror	No	Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light brought together into one beautifully remastered game. Living in a radioactive Russian hellhole has never been so pretty!
	Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor	Action RPG	No	A complex and beautiful RPG for people who just can't get enough Lord of the Rings or who want a challenge without the game being a Japanese import starring pretty big-haired teenagers. Game is piss easy unless you've never played an action game before.
	Mortal Kombat X	Fighting	Yes	FINISH HIM! The latest chapter in the Mortal Kombat series, now featuring Jason Voorhees and Predator!
	Persona 5	RPG	No	Set in modern-day Tokyo, lead a vigilante group, battle with and against supernatural enemies while exploring dungeons, establishing social relationships and going to school.
	Rayman Legends	Platformer	No	The classic platforming legend Rayman is back with hard levels and fun, fast gameplay!
	Resident Evil: Revelations 2	Survival Horror TPS	No	More co-op TPS action in the style of RE5. This time one person plays as the shooter and the other plays as a more supportive character. The game is built around this dynamic and it's pretty interesting, but potentially also boring for the support player. Takes place between RE5 and 6 and features two intertwining storylines: in one you play as Barry Burton and a mysterious kid called Natalia, and in the other you play as Claire Redfield and Barry's daughter, Moira. Overall very fun and a similar experience to RE5, with the added benefit that partner A.I. is no longer useless, but it's really short. Note: The requirement for getting the good ending is bullshit, but goddamn that ending's dank as hell.
	Rez Infinite	Rail shooter / rhythm	No	Eden, the world's most advanced artificial intelligence, is about to crash under the weight of too much knowledge. You are a computer virus whose task is to fight past her defenses to force a reboot. Remake of the Dreamcast cult classic, with improved graphics, an extra area, and support for PSVR. It's absolutely gorgeous and trippy: everything is timed to the music, and your actions become notes and beats, creating a synaesthetic spectacle.
	Rise of the Tomb Raider	Action-Adventure	No	Sequel of the acclaimed reboot. This time, Lara goes to Russia to find an object that can provide immortality for whoever touches it (how original). Since the original release was a Microsoft timely exclusive™, the PS4 got a somewhat Ultimate edition with all DLC content, including some special low-poly outfits that you get after beating the game. Its an improvement of the first game overall: tons of collectibles, more optional tombs, side-quests (?!) and finally Lara has stopped using torches to enter dark places.
	Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition	Action Sandbox	No	You play as an undercover cop infiltrating a Hong Kong gang. It has a similar urban setting and open structure to the GTA games, with a richly detailed game world. Unlike GTA, combat is melee-focused with a similar system to the recent Batman games. The story is a bit of a letdown but Wei is a memorable protagonist, and there's lots of side-content to tackle with the main story's boring you. This is also a good game if you enjoy ogling buff Asian men. Don't expect Yakuza or anything, though. Recipient of the Biggest waste of Emma Stone Award.
	Skylar & Plux: Adventure on Clover Island	3D Platformer	No	An indie 3D platformer developed by four swendish bois. It takes a lot of inspiration from games like Jak & Daxter and Ratchet & Clank. A great entry in this colect-a-ton genre, even though it could be polished a little more. Easy to get to 100%, but no unfortunally no platinum trophy for you.
	The King of Fighters XIV	Fighting	No	One of the greatest fighting game series is back! The series went full 3D, but keeping with the traditional 2D gameplay from previous entries 2.5D and with 50 selectable characters right out of the gate without any DLC bullshit.
	Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition	Action-Adventure	No	Join young Laura Croft back when she was just a normal college student and not an amazing explorer on an adventure with her adopted father and unravel an Asian-flavored mystery on a dangerous island. This game was heavily praised for it's use of character development and richly detailed maps.  Quite QTE-heavy and plays like Uncharted with marginally more freedom. If you hate final bosses, rest easy; there isn't one. No more dankass tiddies either, but the butt game is on point.
	Uncharted 4: A Thief's End	Kart Racer Action-Adventure	No	Nathan Drake, now retired, has to go back on one last kart racing tournament treasure hunt in order to get his older brother's ass out of a sling. Arguably as good if not better than Uncharted 2, and indisputably the prettiest game in the series, and on the PS4 itself, to date. The game also takes several elements from Last of Us as well as earlier entries to the series, so expect more stealth based gameplay or prepare to get completely surrounded much of the time. The story is classic Uncharted fare, but somewhat darker, with its biggest highlight being the story behind the treasure itself. The inclusion of Nathan Drake's brother, Sam, is also a welcome addition to the cast, and handled well. The puzzles are as easy as always, though there seem to be more of them this time around and they don't detract from the overall atmosphere. Gameplay is still very linear, but has a couple of small open world segments and various branching paths throughout, giving you a little more room to explore. All in all it's a really shitty kart racer a satisfying conclusion to a great series.
	Until Dawn	Interactive Drama / Survival Horror	No	It's like one of those cliche horror movies where a bunch of teenagers stay at a spooky place and start dying one by one, except you choose the outcomes and it has multiple endings. Think a Telltale game where the choices actually matter.
	The Walking Dead: A Telltale Game Series - The Complete First Season	Graphic Adventure	No	Come for the zombies, stay for innocent little Clemetine. Manly tears will be shed! Warning: this is pretty much a Visual Novel with some point and click mechanics added in, so don't expect high action even if the plot largely makes up for it.
	The Walking Dead: Season Two - A Telltale Game Series	Adventure	No	Part two of the series plays like part one while continuing Clementine's story. Some have said it lacks the emotional punch of part one due to having too many characters, but others are just happy to see what happenes to our little girl.
	The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt	Action RPG	No	You are Geralt of Rivia, a witcher - that is, a monster hunter and mercenary. Travel around the world, helping or hindering others, while fighting the mysterious army known only as "Wild Hunt". While combat may vary in enjoyability from person to person, the real hook is the story: you have 50 hours worth of gameplay, and that's from the side missions alone. Worth a try just to see how much love CD Projekt RED puts in its games. This goes for the DLC as well. Hearts of Stone and Blood & Wine are both well worth the extra money, pack on around 30 extra hours, and have great stories to tell in their own right.
	The Wolf Among Us - A Telltale Game Series	Adventure	No	Sick of zombeis but want more Visual Novel style gameplay? You're in the right place. In Fabletown all of our myths and legends are real people with real problems. In fact, someone just got murdered... the first someone in hundreds of years. As Sheriff Bigsby Wolfe (aka "The Big Bad Wolf") it's up to you to find the killer and put an end to this before Fabletown tears itself apart. Not as Furry as it sounds.
	Yakuza: Ishin (Ryu ga Gotoku: Ishin)	Action-Adventure/Open World	No	All the punk punching, manly mini-game filled goodness you can expect from the Yakuza series, but thrown back to 19th century Japan. Huge amount of content for completionists, super comfy historical Japan setting with epic MANLY HONOR AND PRIDE plot, sword fighting, gardening, and more. What else can you ask for? A Western release apparently; Ishin is only available in Japan. With no English subtitles or menu options, only those familiar with the series or Japanese would be able to make it through this title, if it weren't for this excellent guide.
	Yakuza 0	Action-Adventure/Open World	No	Set in money crazed 1980's Japan, Yakuza 0 serves as a more in depth origin story than what we were given in early titles in the series. Saga protagonist Kazuma Kiryu doesn't even have his back tattoo finished in this title. With two interesting playable characters who battle with three fighting styles each, this is probably the best combat found in the franchise. Along with more substories, more, crazier minigames, and incredible visuals, this might be the overall best Yakuza game, period.
