The Socrates is a rather obscure console made by VTech. And yes, as it's name implies it is a console specifically made for edutainment games. It came with a keyboard and two hardwired controllers, and most of its "games" featured a robot mascot. However, most of them were barely playable due to very unresponsive controls. That, coupled with a high price and the competition at the time killed it.
