I want to clarify a few things. Music here should be great for listening, EVEN IF IT IS BY ITSELF. You know a few nice soundtracks, that, however you WOULDN'T download to your mp3-player, because without proper visual component (read: game), they don't have the full effect. For example, I think that Fire Emblem is a goddamn glorious game, the music there is great, when you battle and hear that music - you know that you'll kick those asses of enemy's. Same for Deus Ex, however, when listening OSTs of those on it's own - it's just not the same. Also, don't add albums just because of one-two songs. I've created "Singles" especially for this.

While a game may place an emphasis on one genre, each game's soundtrack contains songs ranging from electronic, orchestral, rock, and even some BADASS FLAMENCO (flamenco only in Zero though unfortunately).
Ai Cho Aniki		Mixed	You wanna know how good were Cho Aniki songs? At one point the OST outsold the actual game! These are damn catchy songs, my god!
Ape Escape		Drum & Bass	A fucking FANTASTIC soundtrack for a FANTASTIC game. You can give it a listen here. Even though the soundtrack is mainly "deeannbee", it also uses different styles, alters them, or even interweaves them for certain stages. Some examples of this are in Crabby Beach, Frosty Retreat, Crumbling Castle. No matter what, each song is oddly relevant to each stage, and fresh in every sense of the word. AE2 strayed a bit, but AE3 made a nice return to style.
Ar Tonelico		J-Pop/Choir Electronica	The music from the different Ar Tonelico games aren't all that spectacular, but what is spectacular are the Hymmnos Concert CDs that were created for the gamse.Givethematry
Asura's Wrath		Asian Folk / Instrumental / Epic Orchestral	Asura's Wrath was more of an anime than a game, as it was, so the there was naturally a huge emphasis on making a stellar soundtrack. Did you want an emotional main theme? BAM! Did you want a dark, twisted reprise of that theme for the final boss? BAM! How about a manly cowboy rock track for your deuteragonist? HOLY FUCKING SHIT IT'S SO GOOD! THIS FUCKING SOUNDTRACK EVEN INCLUDES THE BEST PART OF NEW WORLD SYMPHONY! HOT DAMN! The whole thing is really quite great, and you should check it out.
Banjo & Kazooie		Vidya Game	The Banjo & Kazooie soundtrack have some musics that, no matter how hard you try, you'll never forget. Right now, you're thinking about the Gruntilda Lair's theme. Playlist on YouTube Soundtrack also on Bandcamp
Battle Garegga		Mixed	Probably the best composition by the King of Shmup Music, Manabu Namiki, it features the most pumping boss theme in the history of ever!
Bemani (series)		Mixed	It's hard to pick one be-all, end-all album from the entire Bemani series. Just look at how many they've released! There's something for everyone! Eurobeat? Check. Ska/Punk? Check. French Bossanova? Check. Digi-Metal Ragga? Check. Pick an favorite artist or group, and they'll have an album. There's also plenty of remixed/arranged/full version collections. Even most of the soundtracks have bonus or extended versions of songs. Or just get the MASSIVE SUPER BEST BOXES for Beatmania IIDX, Guitar Freaks/Drummania, and pop'n music. And that's not counting the rare/unsold B-sides...
BlazBlue: Continuum Shift		Rock Instrumental	The best rock music you'll ever hear. Composer Daisuke Ishiwatari is known for composing great rock music and amazing guitar arrangements. Featuring some orchestral instruments, guitars and mad drums makes the soundtrack incredibly memorable. Continuum Shift has better music because of new charcter ost's like tsubaki and trollzama.
Braid		Celtic Folk Neoclassical New Age	Un. Freaking. Describable. Really, just listening to this goodness puts you in fucking melancholy. It's one of the gems in this collection. Playlist on YouTube. The soundtrack generally samples and arranges Celtic, Manx and Irish traditional music, while "Downtempo" has chiefly licensed music: Luar Na Lubre - Plenilunio and Eric Montbel - Borrela d'Aragon.
Brütal Legend		Metal	If you like metal, you can't miss Brutal Legend. the entire game is an homage to metal, and the soundtrack includes all the best hits of the genre. Check for yourself, it's pretty fucking awesome.
Capcom Music Generation Rockman X1~6		Metal/Mixed	Mega Man is metal, and Mega Man X is even more metal! This one have all music from the first Mega Man X up to X6, including both the SNES and PSX verions of Mega Man X3.
Capcom VS SNK Millenium Fighting 2000 PRO Soundtrack		Vidya Game	Takes old capcom/snk game ost's and remixes them. The original shit is still here too, so you get your fill of both styles.
Capcom VS SNK 2 Millionare Fighting 2001		Vidya Game	This soundtrack. Thats all it's just a good soundtrack with awesome tracks. Training stage, Aomori, Kinderdjik, man the list is awesome! All in all a must listen like all capcom fighting OST's.
Castlevania Chronicles		Jazz Classical	Some of the most amazing Castlevania music ever! The OST contains not only versions for the three MIDI channels of the original X68000 release, as well as the awesome arrangements by Sota Fujimori.
Castlevania: Rondo Of Blood		Jazz Classical	Damn this shit is fucking great, listen to that shit, goddamn. One of the best OST's for Castlevania, better than the SNES version by miles.
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night		Jazz Atmospheric	SoTN is the quintessential Castlevania soundtrack within the series. Castlevania always had high standards for music but this is without doubt a masterpiece that is still as powerful and lovely to listen to more than a decade since its initial release. Chrono Cross		Ambient Traditional Folk	The best video game soundtrack ever conceived, better than everything on this page. Relaxing as fuck, too. Has a very diverse blend of themes - from Mediterranean, to Caribbean, to Asian - that grace the alternate dimensions of the game world. Listen for yourself.
Command & Conquer (series)		Mixed	NOD>GDI Deal with it.
Comix Zone		Metal Grunge	Grunge-type music powered by the Genesis' awesome synth soundchip, an absolute must listen for any SEGA fan.
Contra Shattered Soldier		METAL	Some of the most metal tunes ever produced, perfect compliment to the Contra SS gameplay. Composed in part by Akira Yamaoko of all people.
Creid		CELTIC	Who knew Xenogears OST would sound even better with Irish/Celtic influence? Don't you cry. ;_;
Darius Premium Box REBIRTH		Mixed	All of Zuntata's goodness in a single box, for all of those who always wanted a thing called Tuna Sashimi!
DJMAX (series)		Mixed	Kawaii K-Pop, Trance, Techno Orchestra, Hip Hop, even Dubstep. You name it, it has it. DJMAX is not only known for its device breaking difficulty but also its wide range in music genres, most are original compositions so you're bound to find a song that you like.
DoDonPachi DaiOuJou ~ Ketsui Kizuna Jigoku Tachi		Mixed	Two amazing Manabu Namiki soundtracks for the price of one! While DoDonPachi DaiOuJou music is more melancholic, Ketsui has a industrial vibe to it, getting close to Battle Garegga as one of the best Namiki compositions!
DoDonPachi Dai Fukkatsu		Mixed	More shmup goodness! Dai Fukkatsu is more upbeat than it's predecessor, but it also gets it's fair share of sadness thanks to the awesome Longhena Cantata.
Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy Kong's Quest		Chiptune	NΙGGA, THIS GAME IS SO GREAT ALONG WITH A GREAT OST THAT IT'S WORTH EACH AND EVERY MOTHER FUCKING SECOND OF CAPS LOCK.
Earthbound/Mother (series)		Chiptune	This series has 3 of Nintendo's musical power players: Keiichi Suzuki, Hirokazu Tanaka, and Shogo Sakai. As such, they manage to make songs that range from cheery to funky to surreal to remixed to dramatic. That may be two too many to's, but that's Mother for ya. Of particular note are the numerous cool remixes and arrangements this series has.
Eternal Sonata Original Score		Orchestral classical music	This may just be one of the best composed soundtracks of any game EVER. The tracks range from slow and melodic to fast-paced and excited without a hitch. Oh, and that last track is THE RANDOM BATTLE THEME. And this isn't mentioning the piano pieces done by an acclaimed Chopin pianist.If you guys love classical music, you NEED to listen to this.
Final Fantasy Tactics		Orchestra	Amazing orchestral masterpiece by Hitoshi Sakimoto.
Final Fantasy X		Electronic Progressive Rock Ambient Dream Pop	Even if the VA's shit the music's still awesome, composed by 3 (!!) people. Even if you think Uematsu's a hack you should give a listen to the soundtrack. Tracks like Besaid Island and Movement in Green are soothing as hell to listen to.
Folklore		Folk Classical	The soundtrack for this ps3 jrpg game is just incredible. Check it out for yourself.
God Hand		Rock Country Metal	Look out for 'God Hand Jukebox' gamerip, it has all the tracks compared to the pitiful amount on the official OST. Bronco Buster your ass into the Milky Way and take a CH-CH-CHANCE with this. Don't 50-50 Split, because you want to jam to these tunes how on earth could you leave out sunset heroes and devil may sly.
Ghost Trick		Easy Listening Drum & Bass	Easy and casual tunes to chill out, but also some intense stuff. It gets better if you have actually played the game.
Gradius Ultimate Collection		Fusion	8 discs full of every Gradius song from every version (except Gradius Galaxies, for good reason) plus remixes. Some of the best classic shmup music there is. All that's missing are the great tunes from Salamander/Life Force, but you can get those and much more in the 10-disc Konami Shooting Collection.
Gran Turismo 1 and 2 (Japanese version)		Jazz fusion, rock	Many people don't know this, but the first two Gran Turismo games had completely different soundtracks depending on the region. While the West got a load of licensed alt-rock dog crap, the Japanese versions had fantastic original soundtracks by Masahiro Andoh (of renowned jazz fusion band T-Square) and Isamu Ohira. Grandia (series)		Orchestral	This OST is just amazing and I'm sure a lot of people would agree with me. There's the classic opening, but it also stirs up feeling to hear tracks such as End of The World or Farewell Sue. Grandia 2's music is arguably even better, the 3rd, not so much. And Xtreme? I don't know what you're talking about. There is no such thing.
Guilty Gear (series)		Metal	FUCK YEAH. Guilty Gear has the best motherfucking metal music ever. Daisuke Ishiwatari's best known work and for a good reason. Unlike BlazBlue, this is mostly metal music aside from a few songs which still have metal aspects. There's also the Korean OST for XX #Reload which was composed by N.EX.T., which is a bit less melodic yet heavier and also quite good as well. There was an album cover here, but it disintegrated as the main man stepped in.
Henry Hatsworth		Classical opera heavy metal	This is a DS game you might have missed. It's an awesome mix between a platform and puzzle game. Gameplay is amazing, graphic is very good and the soundtrack is actually the best thing in the entire game. Awesome boss themes, tricky tunes, a fake opera that actually doesn't mean anything and TEA TIME MOTHERFUCKER!
House of the Dead: OVERKILL		Funk Disco	"House of the Dead: OVERKILL - It's not just good, it's fucking delicious!". Some people call it second best soundtrack after Naganuma's works. Personally, I recommend "Album Mix" versions. A few song's words are not clear if you didn't play through the game, however - fuck that shit, motherfucker, we're talking some asskicking album about here, yo.
Ikaruga		Orchestral	A stunning soundtrack for a stunning shmup. YouTube playlist
Imaginarium: Songs from the Neverhood		Atmospheric Jazz	The complete collection of musics from The Neverhood and SkullMonkeys. It's very original and some people may don't like it, just remember to tie them down on a chair and put this music looping right into their fucking skull with a pair of massive headphones until they start crying blood. After this, they will love it.
Jet Set Radio/Jet Grind Radio		Mixed	Hideki Naganuma. Just Hideki Naganuma. Catchy, bright, energetic, groovy and AWESOME. Considered to be one of the best soundtracks ever, ever made. Really, if you didn't heard it yet, you didn't heard awesome music. You know, just listen to it. "Grace and Glory", "Let Mom Sleep", "Rock It On" and especially "Sneakmen" are filled to the brim with rhythm greatness. Check out additional songs added in NA version!
Jet Set Radio Future		Mixed	Jet Set Radio is back to the Future with more eargasmic goodness. Like before, bright electronic tunes mixed with funky voices and effects. They say that the "Concept of Love" is a must-hear, however, I think that "Funky Dealer" an "Teknopathetic" are really underrated. Bonus tracks are great, though, a bit on a different side.Playlist on Youtube
Katamari Fortissimo Damacy		Jazz Classical	Because fuck you, Katamari has the best music ever. Playlist on YouTube
Kid Icarus Uprising		Mixed	Out of nowhere, Kid Icarus Uprising came out with one of the best soundtrack ever made. Names like Motoi Sakuraba (Tales of, Star Ocean, Valkyrie Profile, Baten Kaitos, Dark Souls, Golden Sun), Yuzo Koshiro (Streets of Rage, ActRaiser, Shinobi, Etrian Odyssey), Masafumi Takada (Killer7, No More Heroes, God Hand), Noriyuki Iwadare (Lunar, Grandia, Radiata Stories), Yasunori Mitsuda (Chrono Trigger/Cross, Xenogears, Shadow Hearts) worked on this masterpiece soundtrack, so fast-paced and full of epicness. Killer Instinct: Killer Cuts		Techno	"KIIIIIIIIIIILER!!! KIIIIIIIIIIILER!!! This soundtrack is KILLER!
Kingdom Hearts		Classical	FUCK YEAH, DISNEY MUSIC. We all loved them back in the days, and KH re-arragemented all of them for our pleasure. The new music are also really good. Don't forget that for every world there is a "normal" theme and a "battle" theme. There are also two 'Piano Collection' albums that are a highly recommended listen.
Kirby 64		Diabetes	Twinkly as fuck (well, until the end), but still stands on its own even if you haven't played the game.
The Legend of Zelda: 25th Anniversary Symphony		Orchestral Ecstacy	Enough nostalgia fuelled beauty to give your child a kick in the pants; some of the Zelda's series most memorable tunes played by a live symphonic orchestra, and included with every copy from the first print run of Skyward Sword. Also, dat Skyward Sword theme. Hnnnf.
Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven		Lounge Easy Listening	God tier soundtrack, featuring Django Reinhardt and the Hot Club de France, The Mills Brothers, Louis Armstrong, Louis Prima, Lonnie Johnson, Latcho Drom and one track by Louis Jordan and his Tympany Five. Check out a few tracks like the main theme, the running man song or the Little Italy's theme.
Mahou Daisakusen Original Soundtrack		Mixed	All the awesome music from the three games (Sorcer Striker, Kingdom Grandprix and Dimahoo), featuring some early compositions by none other than Hitoshi Sakimoto.
Marvel V.S. Capcom 2		Jazz	Damn if this game ain't perfect already, the ost is sweet also. Soundtracks like airship and abyss's stage are truly great themes.
Mechwarrior 2		Orchestral	Cult classic. Long after the game was played out, this disc was still in ghetto blasters and discmans. Playlist on YouTube
Metal Slug Complete Sound Box		Mixed	Every single main Metal Slug soundtrack spread across EIGHT FUCKING DISCS, including the shitty 3D game that nobody played. Metal Slug 5 has a metal as fuck soundtrack.
Metroid Prime		Mixed	What else do we need to say? It's the Metroid Prime soundtrack.
Metropolis Street Racer		Pop/rock	A deliciously catchy bubblegum pop rock racing soundtrack by Sega's maestro Richard Jacques. Youtube playlist, Lyrics
Minecraft		Ambient Electronic	It doesn't matter if you like the game or not, the soundtrack is awesome to listen to. Just put on a pair of headphones and let it go.
Neotokyo		Orchestral House	Neotokyo is a free, released source mod. The game itself plays a lot like a tactical version of Counterstrike Source and it's pretty decent, try it. The soundtrack is amazing, made by Ed Harrison, and definately worth giving a listen to. Nier		Ambient	Featuring the beautiful voice work of Emi Evans, this soundtrack covers all the wonderful music from the enchanting world of Nier. Haunting, hopeful, sad, ominous and sometimes even heavy this OST covers the full emotional spectrum. Playlist on YouTube
No More Heroes		Mixed	Done by the same guy, who did God Hand OST, Masafumi Takada. Great music, great game, nuff said. Bike, Motel, The Virgin Child Makes Her Wish, and Pleather for Breakfast are the tip off the iceburg. Don't be a fuckhead, tune in today! Also, check out the soundtrack for the sequel, it's damn catchy.
Okami		Traditional Japanese	Just listen toit . The music is undeniably traditional Japanese, but if that kind of music is your thing, then the soundtrack doesn't disappoint.
Ollie King		Mixed	More Naganuma goodness. A bit short, but filled with a brand new spirit of speed. Imagine cheetah on crack while surfing a shuttle flying with a speed of light, and you get the rhythm of this album. As always, almost everything is must-hear.
Persona 3 FES Original Soundtrack		J-Pop Mixed	It's the Persona 3 soundtrack, no explanation to it, except it has good quality music.
Phoenix Wright Soundtrack		Rock Instrumental	Phoenix Wright is well know for their catchy tunes, but nothing can top the Objection theme and Godot's theme. Don't miss the official Jazz remix album, Turnabout Jazz Soul either. It's aural sex.
Pokémon Black and White		Vidya Game	When it comes to pokémon music, everybody loves the songs from red, blue, gold and silver. They're timeless, but they're also enjoyable for the nostalgia. But if there's something pretty much all agree about Black and White is that the soundtrack is really, really good. Everybody, while playing it, were excited when you were about to fight someone from Team Plasma just to hear again that awesome villain theme.
Portal2 Songs To Test By		Ambient Modern Classical	Valve tests the shit out of their software; this soundtrack is thus scientifically shit-free. The full versions of the music you heard when you were running for your life or being flung through the air, and they're just as good when you assume the music-appreciation position. They're giving it away for free.
Propeller Arena		Punk	Some pretty kick ass punk rock tunes from bands like Zero Down, Consumed, and No Use for a Name and some original tunes by SEGA AM2. Get it here.
Psychic Force 2010/2012		Mixed	A strange mix of techno, jazz, folk and orchestral music. Most of it was done by Hideki Takahagi of Zuntata.
Radiant Silvergun		Orchestral	Feel visible matter. Feel invisible matter. There is life everywhere. YouTube playlist
Raiden: The Lightning Strikes Back Retro Game Music Collection EX		Mixed	From the first Raiden up to Raiden IV and including Raiden DX, every single awesome Raiden music is over there!
Rayman		Mixed	Rayman is an awesome platforming game with some reeally fucked-up difficulty. The soundtrack is unexpectedly god tier, and if you have played the game as a child you can't forget it. awesome Picture city, Beat land, Betilla's theme, that impossible water level, the boss music. Seriously, is very very good.
Resident Evil The Mercenaries 3D		Orchestral Techno	Like the other Mercenaries games 3D has some awesome pulse-pounding tunes to keep your palms sweating and your dick hard. Playlist on Youtube
Rhythm Paradise/Heaven/Tengoku		Happy House	It's Rhythm Paradise. Yes, there is an official OST. Yes, it's Rhythm Paradise.
Rockman 25th Anniversary ~ ROCKCAN Sound E-Can		Vidya Game	A big E-Can bundle with ALL music from the very first Mega Man up to Mega Man 10, including even the amazing arrangements from Complete Works!
S4 League		Mixed	YEAH YEAH YA'LL READY? S4 League is a third person shooter MMO made by Pentavision of DJ MAX fame. Because of this it shares many tracks and has some exclusive ones, all of them no less awesome. Since the game keeps getting updated, more tracks are added to the mix everytime and the official OST Vivace doesn't include all tracks, something to keep in mind. Playlist on YouTube
Shadow of the Colossus: Roar of the Earth		Classical	An absolute masterpiece of orchestrated music, this soundtrack is so subtle yet grand, you would not be blamed for thinking it came straight from a Miyazaki film. The epitome of boss themes. Playlist on YouTube
Shiren the Wanderer (series)		Orchestral	You know Dragon Quest and how it's European and Symphonic as hell? Well, guess who does the melodic, exotic soundtracks for this. A complete 180 of cultures and it still sounds good. Even when he's not the main composer for the series, he still offers support along with songs and arrangements of his own.
Silent Hill 2		Ambient Dark Industrial Trip-Hop	Like the game it contributed tremendously to, Silent Hill 2's music moves and unnerves with effortless grace. Akira Yamaoka delivers a masterclass in Melancholic atmosphere. Truly made for listening from start to finish.
Silent Hill 3		Ambient Dark Pop	Was Silent Hill 2's soundtrack a little too melancholy? Akira Yamaoka is back with a mix of catchy tunes, ethereal melodies and dark but not brooding atmosphere. Best picks include "Letter (from lost days)" a sad sounding song with upbeat lyrics about hope and love and "You're Not Here", a song so catchy it ended up being used in Dance Dance Revolution Extreme (PS2). Skitchin'		Synth-Grunge	Fuckawesome synthetic grunge that sounds like absolute sex.
Sonic Colors		Techno Electronic	Amazing. Aquarium Park is enough to make anyone start getting goosebumps.
Sonic CD		Orchestral/Techno	Awesome OST to an awesome game. There is difference between the NA soundtrack and the EU/JP, so choose your cup of tea. You can choose between soundtracks in the new Sonic CD arrangement, which is a great change of pace.
Sonic R		Pop	CAN YOU FEEL THE SUNSHINE? This one is actually a bit controversial, people are very "love it or hate it" about this super catchy britpop soundtrack composed by Sega's European maestro Richard Jacques and sung by TJ Davis (who also did the music to Metropolis Street Racer). One weird thing is that the game has the songs in both full and instrumental versions, and like most Saturn games you can simply put it on a regular CD player, but the soundtrack CD lacks the instrumental versions. Sonic Rush: Original Groove Rush		Mixed/Groove	One of Naganuma's recent albums. Different than previous ones, due to less vocal variety, but there's two different mixes to each stage, for Sonic and Blaze respectively, along with neutral, but expanded mixes on the CD. which makes it very cool to contrast and compare them. Regardless, you may get What You Need to rhythm your brains out to the heaven. Also: A New Day Wrapped in Black.
Multi-Dimensional Sonic Adventure 2 Original Sound Track		Mixed	Probably one of THE best sonic soundtracks around. And that's saying something because of how sonic games always have great fucking music for the most part. Includes a variety of music for everyone's taste. From rap, to jazz, to metal, to rock n roll, and whatever the fuck egg man's theme is supposed to be. If your looking for OST's, this one is a shining example among many. Some people may say this is shit, but only because they be jelly of aquatic mine yo.
Sonic The Hedgehog 2006		Metal Techno	A great fucking soundtrack spawned from one of the lesser loved sonic titles. The OST in general is great as fuck, like every other sonic OST basically. The game itself is consider shit, but some people like it believe it or not. So the game itself is also a try before you buy experience.
Sonic Generations Original Soundtrack: Blue Blur		Mixed	Something old, Something new, something unexpected, this is perhaps the ultimate retrospective on Sonic tunes, featuring a large number of originals, remixes, and remasteries of music throughout the series. Perfect for the game, but also to jam out to. While not an official soundtrack as of yet (Official soundtrack is out) most, if not all the music has been uploaded to the internet via various channels.
Sora no Kiseki (series)		Vidya Game	If you've read the Ys entry below then you know what to expect. Falcom strikes again with another series with fantastic music. Be it the jazzy tunes, heroic tunes or just plainly awesome or epic tunes. They even managed to make sad tunes. Be sure to check out the rest of the series' music (Zero No Kiseki and Ao no Kiseki) because they have equally amazing music.
Star Fox		Chiptune	Holy shit this game has the best music ever. I have no idea why the composer stopped working on videogame music after this game. Fucking furries man.
Star Fox Assault		Orchestral	Even with the wonky 3rd-person shooting segments and sluggish Arwing movement the music's really impressive. Katina and Star Wolf stand out but overall the OST's pretty enjoyable. Mostly remixes and rearranges of Starfox 64 but amazing
Street Fighter III Double Impact Original Sound Track		Jazz	This one counts as two soundtracks. New Generation and 2nd Impact both have identical-ish music to one another but both OST's are still recommended together.
Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike Fight For The Future Original Sound Track		Jazz	Pretty good soundtrack for a pretty good game. 'Nuff said.

Terraria		Techno Electronic Dubstep	The soundtrack for Terraria received mixed reviews, mainly because it's TUNZ TUNZ DAN DAAAAN DAN DAN TUNZ. It kinda fits in the game and it's pretty catchy, so it's damn worth to listen by itself. You can listen to the always-updated OST on the official site.
Tetris (CD-I)		Early 90s Muzak; Proto-Vaporwave	Tetris has come in many forms, but none quite as AESTHETIC as the Philips CD-I version that graced the world in 1992, and its soundtrack is almost entirely to thank for that. Despite (and maybe even because of) its generic nature, Jim Andron's score is as catchy as it is relaxing, and it's hard to stop listening when you start no matter what you're doing. Dive in.

The game starts with great neurotic "It's So Wonderful" and ends with sweet "Lullaby For You", with all sorts of stuff like Calling, Twister, and motherfucking Three Minutes Clapping and much more. One of the best of lately released soundtracks (and games). There've been some tweaks in soundtracks between JP and NA/EU versions. Choose what suits best you. Playlist on YouTube. There's also a bitchin' arranged EP, but it only covers 5 of the songs from the game.

Toaplan Co., Ltd. Shooting Chronicle		Mixed	A juggernaut including all music from every single Toaplan shmup, from Tiger Heli to Batsugun, including the amazing songs from Twin Cobra, Zero Wing, Grind Stormer, Truxton II and more!
Touhou		Chiptune Instrumental Mixed	A mixed bag with this one. The audio in the past games employ the use of chiptune while the later games use MIDI level quality because ZUN likes to cling to the past like that. Nevertheless, the compositions are still very nice. There are over 9000 remixes (seriously, we checked) ranging from guitars, piano, techno, orchestra, rock and vocals so there's bound to be songs or arrangements that will fit your tastes.
Transformers: War for Cybertron		Orchestral Metal Synth	The perfect complement to the visuals of War for Cybertron, this soundtrack provides a unique blend of sweeping orchestral scores, heavy metal guitar and even some light synth. Very reminiscent of the 1986 Transformers the movie soundtrack.
Turrican (series)		Chiptune	This series fantastic scores owe themselves to the brilliance of the (then young) legendary Chris Huelsbeck. I'm betting most of the people reading this page haven't experience the greatness of the Turrican series. It doesn't matter,listening to this will make you so nostalgic for a time long past that you may tear up. It's daring, adventurous, and damn near existential.
TxK		Electronic	A trippy techno/trance/ambient soundtrack that is about as catchy as the game. Buy here.
Umineko no Naku Koro ni		Classical	It's a novel! No, it's a game! Who cares, it's an awesome soundtrack! After all, Umineko is a "sound novel", and have some god-tier musics in it. Although it's rather difficult to describe what kind of music it is. Something like techno using instruments like the harpsichord. But what if you're not into techno, as I hypothetically assume you are asking? There's also relaxing and sentimental songs for you to listen to as well. Also, Higurashi no naku koro ni it's worth to check it out.
Undertale		Chiptune	Hype and rabid fanbase aside, Undertale is a pretty damn good game, and the soundtrack might even be the strongest part of it. Youtube playlist, Bandcamp.
Unlimited SaGa		Orchestral Soundtrack	Loved by Japan, HATED by the rest of the world, Unlimited SaGa is either unaccessible trash or an underrated gem once you've figured it out, depending on who you ask. What is universally praised, however, is its magnificent sountrack by Masashi Hamauzu. You want intense battle music? You got it. Prefer a comfier track to chill out? No problem! You wanna get hype for any reason? Here's one of the best theme songs attached to a game. With Over TWO HOURS of the raw aural power, this soundtrack must not be missed.
Wild ARMs Music the Best: Rocking Heart		Mixed	The Wild Arms series is known for it's pseudo wild west settings and the glorious wild west soundtrack. At some point, someone heard a Black Mages album and decided Michiko Naruke's compositions from the first 4 games in the series deserved something sorta similar but completely different. This is the result.
Ys (series)		Power Rock	Ys games are known for having great music and perfect songs stand alone. The most well-known OSTs are from Oath in Felghana (remake of 3) and Chronicles (1 and 2), but there's metric loads of great songs throughout the series. Hell, you may even like certain versions more than others, which is perfectly understandable! Pic related: a typical day at the Falcom offices. Of course, no image could do any justice.
Yu-Gi-Oh! Forbidden Memories		Rock Synth	A great OST with some kickass/relaxing tracks. Worth a listen if you have some time.

A straight up arrangment of most of the tunes (or good ones anyway) from the NES version of Double Dragon 2. For many the stand-out track is Roar of the Double Dragon, an AMAZING cover of the final boss theme.
Dragon Quest Symphonic Suite		Symphonic	EACH AND EVERY MAIN GAME HAS AN ARRANGED ALBUM. SOMETIMES, SPINOFFS. FUCK YEA.
Ecco the Dolphin: Split the Stream of Time		New age	A beautiful fan-made arrangement album with songs from both Ecco the Dolphin games for the Mega Drive, resequenced with modern synthesizers. Get it here.

Merry Gear Solid 2		Christmas	Merry Gear Solid 2 is a fan-made mgs spoof. The music is so well-made it does have a soundtrack with sweet christmas/stealth tunes and an awesome vocal ending music.
Myth: The Xenogears Orchestral Album		Orchestral	Mitsuda's latest release. Atmosphere spans from gentle, reverberating highs ("The Gentle Breeze Sings", "Small of Two Pieces") to quiet, somber tension ("October Mermaid", "lost.. Broken Shards"). "Faraway Promise" is especially piercing in this arrangement, being slower paced and serving as the ending.
Remastered Tracks Rockman Zero (Idea/Telos/Physis/Mythos)		Rock	Rockin hard arrangements of all the tracks from the four Megaman Zero games on the GBA, which obviously sound awesome! The later albums feature some drama tracks that, unless you know Japanese, you'll probably just skip over.
