Wii Games You want to have

Title Genre Description
Animal Crossing: City Folk Simulation Basically take Animal Crossing for Gamecube, add in wifi, and you have Animal Crossing: City Folk. It has Wii Speak compatibility, which might be a draw for some. It's probably most fun if you don't own Wild World for DS and haven't played the Gamecube game.
Battalion Wars 2 TPS/Strategy Battalion Wars 2 combines a third person shooter and strategy game. You control units in real time, but you need to move and attack tactically in order to win. There are additional options for online co-op and multiplayer versus. This is a solid game overall. The main issue I have with it is that some of the motion controls are a little wonky. For a Wii game, it is surprisingly difficult.
Blastworks Shoot-Em-Up
Deadly Creatures Action Although short, Deadly Creatures is a fun game. Controlling a tarantula and scorpion, you will traverse the various environments. Your enemies range from gila monsters, to rodents, to other creepy crawlies. I find the tarantula to be much more fun than the scorpion personally. The motion control here is hit and miss.
de Blob Platformer de Blob is sort of like a platformer combined with a sandbox game.  You color buildings and splat enemies using motion control that is surprisingly well implemented. Occasionally you will have to waggle the wii mote furiously to paint certain landmarks. The game has tons of missions that progressively get more difficult. There are also optional missions, as well as a neat multiplayer mode.
Elebits
Excitebots: Trick Racing Racing
Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Dungeon RPG/Roguelike FFF: Chocobo's Dungeon is a roguelike sequel to Chocobo's Dungeon 2 for the Playstation 1. There are many different classes for Chocobo in this roguelike, and each class has unique features. The best part of this game are the bonus missions. They automatically set your level. These missions force you to enter the dungeon without your powered up weapons/armour. They are quite challenging, and make grinding useless (rare for a roguelike). You will have to use strategy to overcome them.
Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn Strategy RPG This game is occasionally lauded as one of the more difficult for Wii. It is a solid strategy RPG title, much akin to the other Fire Emblem games. If you like Fire Emblem, especially the Gamecube Fire Emblem, you will greatly enjoy this one.
Geometry Wars: Galaxies Shoot-Em-Up
Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility Simulation
Little King's Story Strategy
Madworld Beat-em-up
Mario Kart Wii Racing Mario Kart Wii features the usual racing randomness that you've come to expect from the series. This particular game adds bikes and tricks. It also nerfs the "snaking" that made Mario Kart DS nightmareish for some players. The online in this game is flawless. There is basically no lag whatsoever. Online matchmaking is quick and effortless as well.
Super Mario Strikers Sports
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption FPS/Adventure Metroid Prime 3: Corruption is a first person adventure game/shooter. It is basically more or less like its predecessors, with one big exception: The game's control system features full-on motion control explicitly designed to make the best use of the Wii. The control scheme lends itself perfectly Metroid Prime 3. It is also very responsive. The bosses in this game are particularly enjoyable.
Mushroom Men: The Spore Wars
No More Heroes Beat-em-Up This is a personal favorite game of mine from this gen. It's another hilarious, violent, and over the top beat-em-up for the Wii. You play as Travis Touchdown, slashing at random peons, and doing various fun mini-games in between the massacring. The characters and voice acting are both fantastic. The boss battles in particular are quite cleverly designed.
Punch Out!
Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles Rail Shooter
Rune Factory Frontier Action RPG/Simulation
Super Mario Galaxy Platformer Super Mario Galaxy has one of the highest meta-scores of any game this generation, and for very good reason. This is a magnificent platformer, innovating upon the usual Mario formula in many ways. The biggest change is the implementation of motion control. You will use it to perform Mario's spin, as well as to collect star bits with the Wii mote. There are various challenges that use it cleverly in other ways as well. With 120 stars to collect, and tons of platforming challenges, there is plenty to do in this game.
Super Paper Mario Platformer Paper Mario? A platformer? What? Yep, that's the direction Nintendo went with this game. Though the game features some RPG elements, it is mostly a platformer. It's still, nonetheless, a very fun game. The humor is great, the levels are over the top, and there are plenty of interesting puzzles. While not as good as the previous installments in the Paper Mario franchise, this is still definitely worth playing.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl Fighting This is a must-own game for Wii owners. It's excessively fun, both with online and offline multiplayer. The subspace emissary (single-player) honestly is actually not too bad either. With plenty of new characters, hardly any clones, and the same great gameplay as the previous Smash Bros. games, Brawl is fun whether you want to play competitively or casually. Shame they had to add tripping though. SAKURAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAI!
Tatsunoko vs. Capcom Fighting
Tenchu: Shadow Assassins Stealth
House of the Dead: Overkill Rail Shooter
The Conduit FPS
Tiger Woods 10 Sports
Trauma Center: New Blood Simulation
Trauma Center: Second Opinion Simulation
Wario Land: Shake It! Platformer This is a pretty fun and humorous 2D platformer. Wario is no longer invincible, but certain enemy attacks and stage hazards DO still power him up in various ways (setting him on fire for instance). These powers, again, still can help him find secrets. The game is pretty easy if you just want to breeze through it. However, unlocking all the treasures and completing the missions in each level is VERY difficult.
Warioware: Smooth Moves Minigame Compilation
Zach & Wiki Adventure Zach & Wiki is a classic adventure game. Similar to its point and click predecessors, you will have to utilize various items to solve the puzzles. For a Wii game, this is surprisingly brain taxing. Motion control is implemented here, and it makes solving the puzzles even more fun. A fun feature here is the ability to change enemies into items. There are plenty of secrets in this game that are not immediately obvious.
